Plein Air Colorist
I have a fascination for light and color on a variety of subjects. I am dedicated to the direct observation of nature. I paint on location, studying the constant shifting patterns of light and color and exploring the unique atmospheric effect of a particular landscape, urban setting or a common every day scene. I return often to the same location at different times of day and different seasons, looking for newness as well as the familiar. I am continually inspired by the subtle beauty of the back roads of the Northwest and the people, history, and power of nature.
